The Witches Broom

click for an even bigger image This 'bewitching' broom looks just like the ones witches are rumored to ride on Halloween eve. During the early 1800's this broom was seen in most homes & porch doorways. Unlike the flat brooms (invented by the Shakers), the side of this broom does the sweeping. Gently pressed to the floor it sweeps a 14 inch wide path. No corner, high or low, is safe from its dirt and dust-grabbing bristles. Measures 64 to 67 inches long. It stores with bristles up.
